Our Visitors' Favorite Games!
Welcome to our Visitors Favorite Games page. As kids growing up we all had our favorite game we would play with our friends. My favorite was Indian Ball and Flashlight Tag. I could hardly wait to get up in the morning, go to my buddies homes and round up some players. Many of us spent our summers playing the games listed here on this site. Building this site and having four young children of my own, has brought back many good memories of those carefree summer days. Take a stroll down memory lane with us and see if "your" favorite games are here. Take this opportunity to pass them on to your own children and see which ones are their favorites. Feel free to submit your own favorite game, see our form at the bottom of this page. Enjoy!!

Sprinkler Freeze Tag--I used to love freeze tag. We used to play it in the sprinklers, which added an element of surprise - nothing like having to "freeze" while water from the sprinkler was going up your nose!!Submitted by: Lauri Trampoline Dodge-ball--This is a very fun game. All you need is a trampoline, allot of toy balls,(rubber bouncy balls work the best, but a few beach balls also work)and about two to four players. You run or jump around in the trampoline, avoiding the balls. You have three to five lives, depending on how long you want the game to be. If you touch one of the balls, you lose life. When you lose all of your lives, you are out of the game. The last one left is the winner. This very simple game will give you hours of fun all year long. Submitted by: Austin Andi over--Put half the people on each side of a building, throw a ball over the roof and if the other side catches it, holler "Andi Over" and go around the building and tag someone on the the other team, then they are on your team. You keep playing until you eliminate the other team. Submitted by: Tony Step Ball--Can be played with 2 or more people. Pickup teems or "one" on "one" elimination. The manor you keep score is very flexible. Use a tennis ball or similar, Standing in front of a stair case, (concrete works best) three or more steps high preferably. Throw the ball attempting to hit the corner edge of the step to get the most rebound. Bank shots on inside corner work well also. Your opponent has to catch the ball on the fly and get 3 outs, then switch! You can set up bases or distances to determine 1st, 2nd & 3rd base hits. Submitted by: James Release--Go and hide, when caught you go to a designated base. Your friends need to "RELEASE" you to be freed. Submitted by: Dominic Indian Ball--Armed with a bat, ball, and glove, again choose who will go first. This person will hand-toss the ball to him or herself and hit the ball with the bat. After batting the ball, lay the bat down horizontally across home-plate. The player in the field who catches the ball, then rolls the ball on the ground from where it was caught, trying to hit the bat. Whoever catches the ball and hits the bat from that spot gets a turn to bat. We loved this game as kids and it's unbelievable how hard it can be to hit that bat!! Submitted by: Mark Flash Light Tag--This was one of my favorites!! Depending on how many players you have, you need to split into 2 even teams. One team sets off and each individual on the team hides in separate locations within the boundaries set~ the bigger the yard, the better, and playing in the woods is the best! The other team is armed with flashlights and embarks on finding the hiding team's members. Once found and spotted with the flashlights, they must go to jail. Jail is a place designated by both teams. When all have been found and are in jail, it is the other team's turn to hide. A variation we would sometimes play, was to allow the team hiding to set their teammates free from jail, only if they could get to them without being spotted by the seeking team's flashlights. Usually we would leave a spotter to keep an eye on the jail, but those summer nights can get pretty dark and some of us were pretty sneaky! Submitted by: Jennifer Croquet--A family favorite at home and on many camping trips was croquet. It's great for children of all ages and you can find a croquet set to fit any budget. We had more fun making up our own rules as we went along than following the 'correct' way to play :) Submitted by: Jen WE called it the "ED SULLIVAN INTERVIEW"--One child is stationed by the water spicket. Another holds the garden hose as a microphone. As the interviewer and the speaker are asking and answering questions, the child at the spicket randomly turns on the water, spraying whomever is talking at the time! Its a great hot summer day game! Submitted by: Leslie We love to play Marco Polo in the pool. --One person, with their eyes closed, is "it" and yells Marco, while the others yells Polo. The person who is "it" is trying to tag another person and repeats this until he/she does. It can be played with 2 or many, many people. Splash away! Submitted by: Rebekah Mother May I--All players stand in a line. One person is the mother (it). The Mother faces the line of players and tells the players what they have to do. Example, the Mother would say, take three steps forward or hop on one foot. The player needs to say "Mother May I". If they do they get to get to move! The idea is to move without saying Mother may I. If the player moves, then that player becomes the mother. Submitted by: Charlene Red Rover--All the kids in the neighborhood would gather at one person's house and we would divide into two teams, holding hands forming a line. We would call "Red Rover, Red Rover we dare " and then call someone from the other team to come over. The person we called would run as fast as they could and try to break through our linked arms. If they broke through, they would get to go back to their team and take someone from the team that called them, with them. If the line would hold and no arms were broken, then the runner would have to stay with the team that called them. It provided hours of fun and many great memories. Submitted by: Monica My friends and I like to play Jail Break.--First, break up into teams to be "it" or one person can be "it". Then, you decide where the bases and jail are. The person/people count to ten to give the people a chance to run. If you get to base, you can only stay there for 30 seconds then you have to leave, there is allowed guarding by another person. If you get tagged, then you go to jail until someone tags you and says jail-break, then you run free. If you are tagged more than 5 times, the fifth time you are tagged you stay in jail for the rest of the game. Once you get everyone in jail the other team is "it" or if it's a single player he/she will pick who is "it" next. Have fun and enjoy!!!! Another great game submitted by: Rebekah Two Ball--I USED TO SPEND AGES PLAYING TWO BALL UP AGAINST A FLAT WALL..........UNDERARM,THEN OVERARM WHILE CHANTING RYHMES WHICH I CANT REMEMBER NOW.ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER THIS? Submitted by: Cath from United Kingdom Fox and Hen--You need to make a path in the leaves, or in the snow with loops and dead ends. One person needs to be the Fox and the other one a Hen. Start in different areas of the path, someone will say go and the Hens will try to stay away from the Fox while the Fox tries to tag the Hens. When the Fox tags a Hen the Hen will be the Fox and it will keep going, but remember you need to stay on the path both Fox and Hens. submitted by: Jacob Billy Baloo--I think what Cath from the United kingdom meant by Two Ball is what we call here Billy Baloo. That is where you chant, "Under Billy Baloo, under Billy Baloo, one, two three, four, five Billy Baloo. (Using two hands you alternately throw the balls against the wall in a juggling fashion. Then you go over, upsy, downsy, under one leg, under the other leg, bouncey, then when you finish all of this successfully in order, you get to try it with three balls. Submitted by: Dawn from Canada Lemonade--Divided into two teams, you must walk over to the other team and give initials of the scenario you are acting out. If someone guesses they all chase after the other team and try to capture as many as they can before they cross their safe line. This continues until all are captured on either team. Submitted by: Jo from United States Shoe Run--Have all the children take there shoes off and put them in a pile. Have them return to a certain point. Take all the shoes and throw them around. On the count of three have them run and find there shoes, put them on and return to a certain point. First one back receives a gift. Submitted by: Lori from Ohio
