Smores Cake
A YUMMY smores recipe alternative any time of year!

Smores Cake is TASTY, FAST, and FUN! Maybe you're stuck inside in the dead of winter, or indoors in the pouring rain~ never fear! This smores recipe will give you a glimpse of warm summer evenings around the campfire. Best of all, it's WONDERFULLY SIMPLE!

First, assemble ingredients~

You'll need:

1 chocolate variety of a boxed cake mix, plus ingredients to make it
1 jar of marshmallow cream
Teddy Grahams or graham crackers
Heavy cream
Chocolate chips or bittersweet chocolate
Butter

Step 1- Make a chocolate boxed cake mix of any variety as directed, using 2 round pans. Or, you could get quite fancy and authentic by using a totally homemade mix.

Step 2- Allow to cool, then assemble by spreading a jar (or as much as desired) of marshmallow cream between layers.

Step 3- Next, make your ganache frosting. Simply place 16 ounces of bittersweet chocolate or chocolate chips into a stainless steel or glass bowl. Heat 1 cup of heavy cream and 1/2 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir until it JUST starts to boil. Watch it like a hawk- it will boil over in a matter of seconds. (Ask me how I know!) Pour over chocolate pieces, allow to sit for a few moments, then whisk til smooth. Cool a bit, then pour over cake. Warning: keep your fingers out- you may not be able to stop tasting and your cake may end up frostingless- not that I would know about that, either. ;)

Step 4- Arrange teddy grahams or sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over top.

Step 4- ENJOY! And remember the goldren rule-- to do unto others as you'd have done to you-- SHARE!
